Winners from the XorroQ’s launch at ULearn

Manzana would like to congratulate Fiona Burns (Mt Roskill grammar), Katie Christie (Winton), and Linda Lehrke (Hingaia Peninsula School) for winning Manzana’s Xorro Q user license competition at ULearn 2012.

The competition was part of the Xorro Q launch that Manzana were having at ULearn 2012. To enter the competition ULearn attendees had to log into a Xorro Q session (via their mobile device) and answer a couple of basic questions on BYOD and individual student device use.

The three lucky winners will now have free access to 5* single user license for Xorro Q over the coming year. The teachers can put these licenses to work in the classroom as a way to enhance the use of bring your own devices (iPads, tablet pcs, smart phones, netbooks, laptops etc..) by turning them into student response devices.

Developed in Auckland, Xorro Q takes existing student devices (iPads, tablet psc, smart phones, netbooks, laptops etc..) and turns them into response devices. Students can respond to questions posed by the teacher via their device (so long as it is web enabled). Responses can be anything from basic A,B,C style voting/assessment or more open ended questions that students can submit full text answers for. All student answers can be displayed on the teacher’s laptop and are instantly saved onto a student database for review.
