One of Workbook’s great strengths compared to competitors, is it’s customisability. With just a few simple steps, ideally taken before users have even started with Workbook, the software can be made far more accessible and productive. We suggest:
– Decide on whether the standard icon size is most suitable across the organisation;
– Decide on whether you are happy with the default handle size for all users;
– Specify custom toolbars for each department in your organisation and deliver these in the standard build.
By creating your Personal Toolbar, and eliminating all the other tools which you won’t use, you remove clutter and simplify all users’ lives. It takes only a few seconds, and can be standardised across departments or the whole organisation. Furthermore, you make it easier and faster to get to the tools and resources you need, right when you need them….
Lots of organisations have now adopted this approach, transforming Workbook from what looks like a specialised application with lots of buttons, to a very friendly and intuitive tool with a minimum of clutter. Each department can have its own custom toolbars, featuring folder links to resource locations on network shares, a set of pre-configured pens and lines, and selected preferred Workbook tools. Toolbars, once customised, can also be instantly exported, shared and imported.
To customise your Personal Toolbar, press the “Customise Personal Toolbar” icon at the left end of the Personal Toolbar. This will provide you with a menu of types of tools you might want to include in your toolbar. Check out the following trainer videos on YouTube:
